BIDFORD Primary School's lollipop lady was sporting a new look this week as Warwickshire County Council unveiled a new coat for school crossing patrols.
The coat has been specially designed and features a broad red band along the bottom of the coat and sleeves, which is particularly effective in low light or sun glare. It also benefits from allowing both children and drivers alike to distinguish school crossing patrols from wearers of standard yellow reflective jackets.
The council employees around 100 school crossing patrols across the county.
Cllr Martin Heatley, portfolio holder for the environment, said: "It's vital that our patrols can be seen by motorists in all weathers and all conditions and tests have shown that the new red band is one of the most effective ways of doing this."
