Better towns by design for our future

THE Government, in their wisdom, have decreed several New Towns be constructed around the country in the open countryside. These are to be complete environments with some workplaces.
The same Government is also trying to encourage people to leave cars at home when they go to work.
Surely they would be better employed encouraging people to live within walking distance of their place of work by offering incentives, and building these new towns within walking distance of Industrial Estates. After all Mr Cadbury did it in Bournville.
The last thing we need is a new town at Long Marston, or Throckmorton for residents who will be living there before they realise the problems.
