Old and new town

Well I have to say the recent Pershore Area Forum meeting I found very interesting.

After being given the impression for months that the disenchantment scheme on part of our High Street is down to the County Council, it turns out that it is actually WDC who have paid and instigated these unnecessary alterations including the awful paved paths which are so wide in places that I expect trams to start running down them, to give Blackpool a run for it's money. Not to mention the severe narrowing of the road outside the Town Hall which will give two cyclists passing each other the colly wobbles.

Our County Council officials confirmed they had merely budgeted for the replacement of the kerbs and resurfacing in tarmac. That would have made a 16-week job a much shorter one.

Pershore people were under the impression that all the High Street from Broad Street to Abbey Garage was being done but it's as far as church and that is your lot. In effect turning our High Street in to old and new Pershore. Surly that means half a job, half the time! Boy oh boy you wait till you see where the new crossing is going!

Bet you are all glad that your District Councillors voted themselves through a nice 9 per cent pay rise aren't you.
