Designs for our High Street

I have attended the exhibition in the Evesham Town Hall and read the article in your Newspaper.

Aesthetically, the proposal is pleasing, however, it fails to provide satisfactory solutions for some of the basic High Street amenities. Disabled parking is reduced and moved further away from the main body of shops.

The taxi rank is reduced in size (already far too small for the burgeoning numbers of taxis licensed by Wychavon DC) and bizarrely divided and located on both sides of the High Street. A similar arrangement is proposed for the buses. This will increase the pedestrian traffic across the High Street for those wishing to use public service transport.

I see little value being derived from the massive expenditure of £2 million. It would be a huge improvement to the High Street if an advanced integrated traffic control system could be introduced to improve the traffic flow.
