The Evesham Branch of the RNLI would like to thank the people of Evesham for their support in 2007. £8400 was raised from collections and donations.
The support to the RNLI by the people of Evesham was recognised with an Award from the RNLI for raising over £100,000 since the original Ladies Guild was set up in 1969.
It costs £1000 a year to train and equip one RNLI volunteer and the level of professionalism achieved was seen last year when several crews from the RNLI rapid response unit arrived in the Vale to support local services and were able to rescue 120 people from their homes and help with the distribution of water, food and medicines.
We start our 2008 programme with a street collection in Evesham on May 3rd, if anybody can spare an hour or two to help us please call our Chairman on 01386881307 Bob Crockford, Evesham Branch Secretary.
