Forgotton flood victims

MUCH has been written about the plight of flood victims in places like Sedgeberrow. I, and others like me, in Waterside, Evesham, seem to have been forgotten. I lost everything in the July floods, including personal items that can never be replaced, and am still waiting to be able to move back in.

We can't stop the rain and the floods that follow but what concerns me most is that nothing seems to have been done to dredge the River Avon of all the debris that has been brought down by the floods, nor have I heard of any plans to do so.

This means that if we get more heavy rain the river will flood even quicker and we could be faced with the agony all over again.

We have no choice but to continue living in Waterside because the opportunity to sell has gone since the devastating floods.

My plea to the Environment Agency would be to take some of the worry off our minds by clearing the river bed in order to allow the water to get away quicker and leave us high and dry.
