THIS is the man British Transport Police want to speak to in connection with the theft of a bicycle from a railway station.

A dark blue Merida mountain bike was secured in the cycle racks at Worcester Foregate Street station by its owner at about 11am on Monday, February 24 but it was missing upon his return at 10.30pm.

PC Carol Dade says the man in the picture is believed to have key information about the incident.

“Enquiries have been ongoing since the theft took place to discover the identity of the person responsible for stealing the cycle."

The British Transport Police is cracking down on this type of crime and we have a dedicated team of officers specifically focused on tackling this issue.

Officers are carrying out a variety of initiatives to catch thieves in the act and they are also working closely with cycle and second-hand shops in the area and monitoring online auction and advertising sites to make it more difficult for thieves to sell on stolen property.

Anyone with information should call British Transport Police, quoting incident reference GSUB/B3 of 16/04/14, on 0800 40 50 40.
