RELEASE your wild side and explore the beautiful outdoors at a National Trust property.

The Brockhampton Estate, near Bromyard, is staging a family den building day on Tuesday, April 22, when children can test their adventure skills in the woods by making their own den, toasting marshmallows over a campfire and discovering how to make a bow and arrow.

Brockhampton Estate ranger, Nicholas Hinchliffe, said: “We all have childhood den related memories, involving secret hiding places and getting dirty creating a special place with friends and siblings. Children love using their imagination and enjoy playing outdoors.”

It runs from 1.30pm to 4pm and costs £3 per child, adults free.

Visitors can also explore the idyllic nature trail at Lower Brockhampton and experience the recently refurbished and renamed wildlife hide.

It is open every day from 10am to 4.30pm and visitors have previously reported seeing various types of birds, from Tree creepers and Nuthatches to Lesser and Great Spotted Woodpeckers.

Others have spotted all creatures great and small, from Muntjac and Fallow Deer to Hares and Squirrels.
