FLOWERS have been laid at the spot where a woman was crushed to death by a lorry in Worcester yesterday.

This morning shops in The Shambles were back open for business, but a number of floral tributes have already been left at the spot where the accident happened.

The 69-year-old woman was crushed by a bin wagon outside of Argos, as shocked shoppers and traders looked on.

The woman, who has not yet been named, is thought to have been between two lorries when she was dragged beneath the wheels of one.

The driver of the Smiths bin lorry has since been arrested, as a matter of routine, and released on bail.

Several eyewitnesses needed treatment from ambulance staff for shock while others were left in tears following the incident outside Argos at 9.15am.
