TRAFFIC surveys will be conducted on key routes in and around Worcester city centre (including the A4440 Southern Link Road) and could cause 'delays'.

The survey will happen on October 22 between 7am and 7pm. The aim of the survey is to provide evidence that could later be used in supporting future funding bids for improvements, such as Carrington Bridge.

West Mercia Police will be in attendance at all designated locations supporting the surveys.

It is possible that some delays may be experienced by motorists but everything will be done to ensure any temporary hold-ups are kept to a minimum.

Cllr Simon Geraghty, Worcestershire County Council Cabinet Member for Economy, Skills and Infrastructure, said: "It's important people understand what will be taking place in and around Worcester City ahead of October 22 to avoid any possible confusion.

"The survey work is crucial in obtaining the evidence required to submit strong future bids for funding for transport improvements, as has successfully happened through the Strategic Economic Plan to turn plans for Phase Three improvements on Worcester's Southern Link Road and Wyre Forests' Hoobrook Link Road into a reality.

"It's possible that some delays may be experienced while this takes place but everything will be done to keep any disruption to a minimum."
