A SPOOKY Halloween spectacular is set to bewitch visitors at St John's Library, St John's, Worcester.

The event on Friday, October 31 takes place between 1pm and 4.30pm, and there will be lots of fun activities for children of all ages to get involved with.

Animal Mania will be returning to the library and children will have the opportunity to handle some of them and learn facts about them.

Andy's Magic will put on two magic shows at 2pm and 3.15pm. There will also be an opportunity to purchase balloon animals. The day will feature

pumpkin carving, spooky stories, a tombola, and a fancy dress competition with prizes. Halloween-related food and drink will be available to purchase.

The event is aimed at children aged up to 12 year old and is free of charge, although entrance to the magic shows is by ticket only. Magic show tickets are free and available from St John's Library, but are subject to either joining the library service or borrowing two items from St John's Library between the October 15 and October 30. Places for the magic shows are limited and tickets will be allocated on a first come basis.

St John's Library manager, Paul Etheridge, said: "We're really looking forward to celebrating Halloween with our visitors. Whether you're a regular library user or this is the first time through our doors, why not come along for some scary fun?"
