A MAJOR road has now reopened after a lorry struck a pedestrian footbridge.
Congestion has now eased on the A44 Whittington Road, Worcester after the road was reopened.
The lorry hit the bridge near the BP garage at around 7.30am this morning. A highways inspection has revealed there was no damage to the bridge itself.
Recovery work has now been completed on the A44 Whittington Road inbound between A4440 and Spetchley Road. The road is now open and traffic is flowing freely.
