OSCAR is a sweet natured Springer Spaniel cross in the care of PUPS (Protection for Unwanted Puppies).

He is a friendly, affectionate boy who likes everyone, loves children and is also very good with other dogs.

Oscar came into the rescue shelter because he was too energetic for his owners and is now looking for a home with an active family, ideally going on long walks, jogging or doing agility.

The 14-month-old loves company, where someone is at home most of the time. He can get anxious when left, so really needs another dog as a companion. He walks well on the lead and comes back when called from running free.

Oscar is in excellent condition and housetrained. He's neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and deflead.

Meanwhile, the Worcester and Mid-Worcestershire RSPCA's appeal for new homes for rescued cats proved very successful. Our recent article saw nine cats reserved and another 10 cats were reserved from the branch's cat rehoming day.

Geraldine Haynes, of the branch, said: "What a result - we're over the moon - it was the best response ever!

"It's such a relief after the worry of not having any space to take any more in, although there are always new arrivals coming into our care who will also need new homes."

Many of the cats seeking their forever homes can be seen on the local branch website at http://www.rspca-worcester.co.uk/.
