WITH just a few days to go towards the official switch-on of Malvern's Tree of Light, this years's appeal has been a great success so far, say organisers.
Malvern Rotary will be switching on the Tree of Light in Priory Park at 6.30pm on Monday, December 1, and all are welcome to attend the ceremony.
The campaign, now in its 12th year, allows people to remember their loved ones at Christmas by sponsoring one of the lights on the 100-foot conifer at the rear of Malvern Theatres.
So far this year's Tree of Light has raised £12,218 through donations, said Michael Barraclough of Malvern Rotary.
He said: "We're delighted with the response we've had this year. We hope that as many people as possible will come along to Priory Park on Monday to see the switch-on and remember those who the lights are dedicated to."
