HISTORIC photographs at the Hive can bring a lost world to life say archivists.

Those interested in delving a little deeper into Worcester's history can attend the Exploring Archives workshop, organised by the Worcestershire Archive and Archaeology Service.

The Worcestershire County Council service workshop is part of the Explore Archives series and will introduce the large range of photos held within the collection and give tips on the best way to search and find the ones you want and how they can be used.

It's taking place at the Hive on March 17 between 2pm and 4pm.

Places are limited and need to be booked in advance. They cost £6 per person.

There is approximately 80,000 images in the main collection and thousands more within the archives.

The type of images includes aerial and building photos, which can literally illuminate the past.

Paul Hudson, Learning and Outreach Manager said: "Photos fascinate people, and particularly old photos where people recognise views that are familiar but much changed. This workshop will highlight the wide range of images we have in our collections, as well as how to search and find ones which are useful for your research."
