A WORKSHOP offering advice on how to uncover the history of buildings has been organised.
Worcestershire Archive & Archaeology Service is running a House History Workshop at The Hive on Saturday, April 18 from 10am to 1pm.
House history is becoming an increasingly popular hobby, as people look to find out the history of their house or another building of interest.
The documentary evidence available at The Hive, including maps, directories, photos and census information, can help to tell this story.
The workshop provides the opportunity to learn about the main historical sources available.
A couple of local buildings will be used as case studies and attendees will be shown how to search the catalogues and indexes.
Paul Hudson, learning and outreach manager for Worcestershire Archive and Archaeology Service, said: "People often come in to see us to ask about the past of their house or other buildings.
"The workshop is a great way to understand how to use the many available sources to discover the history of a building and the people who lived there."
entry costs £12 per person but places are limited.
