A NEW BP M&S Simply Food outlet in Worcester is beginning to take shape as these photographs taken today (Wednesday) show.

The last pictures we took in the middle of last month showed the twisted remains of the former BP garage in Lower Wick after it had been dismantled and the pumps removed.

But now the new BP M&S Simply Food outlet is beginning to take form as the bare bones of the structure go up.

As previously reported the £1 million redevelopment will create up to 18 jobs.

A cement mixer was working behind the chain-link fencing which surrounds the site.

The garage will continue to provide fuel but the site will also have a Wild Bean Cafe selling tea, coffee, hot drinks and sandwiches.

A BP M&S spokesperson said the M&S store would offer 'high quality food ranges', including ready meals, fresh produce, sandwiches, snacks, drinks and basic groceries including bread and milk.

The new development is expected to open in June this year.

The garage was being run as an independent BP dealer before work began to convert it into the new-look business.

The partnership between BP and M&S has been in place since 2005 and there almost 200 of these type of stores across the country.
