WORCESTERSHIRE County Museum at Hartlebury Castle is getting into the festive spirit this December with its annual 'Christmas at the Castle' weekend.

Christmas at the Castle will take place on Saturday, December 12 and Sunday, December 13, running between 11am and 4.30pm both days.

Children will be able to meet Father Christmas and his helpers in their Winter Wonderland grotto and receive a special gift.

They can also take part in a variety of craft activities including making Christmas tree decorations and lavender spice bags, get their faces painted and write letters to Father Christmas.

In the Castle's Scullery the housemaid will be busy with Christmas preparations and outside in the Carriage Circle the castle coachman will be offering horse and carriage rides.

Adults can browse a gift and craft fair in the Great Hall and there will be entertainment from local choirs and musical groups.

Pippa Ashmore, events officer, said: "Christmas is all about enjoying ourselves and spending time with loved ones. The County Museum offers the perfect atmosphere for some traditional festive fun and entertainment."

Admission costs £5 for adults, £2.50 for children and concessions or £13 for a family ticket. Presents from Father Christmas cost £3.50.
