CHRISTMAS is just around the corner and so too is Thomas the Tank Engine who will be bringing festive magic to little ones. Mum-of-one Louise Phillips took Thomas-mad son Raphael to Drayton's Magical Christmas and enjoyed the fun.

My little boy's obsession Thomas started when he received a book for his first birthday two months ago and his enthusiasm for the friendly steam engine has grown exponentially ever since.

So when we were offered the chance to spend the day in a Christmassy Thomas Land we jumped at the opportunity. Being only three months old last year, this was our first chance to see him enjoy Christmas and make some magical memories with him at such a special time of year.

There is everything from snow-carpeted scenery, live singing Christmas shows, fireworks, light shows and parades, giant Christmas trees and decorations galore, as well as Santa's Castle of Dreams where you can meet the big guy himself.

Thomas Land did not disappoint the engine's biggest (but also littlest) fan.

From the moment we walked in the little one's eyes lit up at the sight of a full size Thomas (dressed as Rudolf of course) on which you can ride.

His favourite rides had to be Harold's Helicopter Tours and the Jeremy Jets where it was possible to get a full view of the park in all its festive glory.

For me, however, nothing says Christmas like a giant Victorian Carousel tinkering out melodic Christmas tunes, but the most magical moment has to be immersing ourselves into the world of the Polar Express in the 4D cinema.

As the train chugged through the North Pole I looked at the mixture of amazement and bewilderment on my little boy's face and realised this was a magical start to many years of Christmas together.
