A MUSIC festival in Worcester to showcase the talents of young musicians continues to grow in size and scope.

The three-day Severn Sounds Festival at the Pavilion in the Park in Tybridge Street, Worcester has already drawn in new acts and attracted funding from the Big Lottery which organisers hope will make it the 'the biggest and best yet'.

The extra funding will allow organisers to put on much more entertainment and activities for visitors to participate in than in previous years say organisers.

The festival will run on Friday, June 3, Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5 to raise money for Worcester charity New Hope which works with families who have children with disabilities and complex care needs.

Di Howland, one of the organising committee, said: "Severn Sounds music festival 2016 will be bigger and better."

The raffle prizes have also been announced: 1st prize is a luxury lodge weekend break for up to six people at Whitsand Bay Fort in Cornwall; 2nd prize is £200 cash, 3rd prize is Sunshine Festival tickets with Worcester Warriors tickets, Worcestershire County Cricket tickets and tickets for Worcester Races also up for grabs.

Other prizes include D&M Meat vouchers, AvonCroft Museum Family tickets, hampers and wine.

There will be some appearances during the weekend by some Superhero Marvel characters and Elsa and Anna from Frozen.

Miss Worcestershire,  Laura Morgan, will be coming along on Sunday to help with the raffle.

There has also been a last minute change to the lineup on Sunday afternoon. Yes Lad, a new boy band, will be performing.

The beer festival will host 10 guest beers, 10 guest ciders for visitors to try.

The Friday night headline act will be the Bohemians – 'the ultimate Queen tribute act'.

On Saturday we have Jasper in the Company of Others, Institutes and the Magoos and on Sunday Done by Sunrise and Blobbie Williams will be joining the festival with a host of other bands and musicians.

There will be three days of live music from local performers and musicians and some students from Christopher Whitehead Language College who won the Battle of the Bands event will also be performing on Family Festival Sunday.
