ONE OF Worcester’s best known visitor attractions is being featured on a hugely popular BBC daytime television programme tomorrow (Friday May 27).

Viewers, who tune in to Bargain Hunt at 12.15pm tomorrow lunchtime, will be able to enjoy finding out about the Museum of Royal Worcester and some of its exhibits.

The sequence at the museum will feature national treasure and international ceramics expert Henry Sandon, who is also a patron of the museum.

The filming was done in early March and Mr Sandon took Bargain Hunt presenter Natasha Raskin around the galleries and explained the history and stories behind some of the pieces in the collection.

Museum manager Amanda Savage said: “It is fabulous for us to be featured in Bargain Hunt. They cut away from the main bargain hunt part of the programme to feature the museum.

“Henry loved doing it and the film crew loved it. He was perfect and an absolute natural. Henry is our greatest ambassador. He is so supportive of the museum and the work we do and he has invested so much of his life to Worcester and Royal Worcester Porcelain. He has a huge heart.”

This is the second time the Museum of Royal Worcester has been featured on TV in recent years. A couple of years ago the BBC’s Flog It made a visit to the museum.

And the museum will be making it a TV hat trick next week when the BBC TV programme Escape To The Country will be filming there. The programme is helping someone relocate to this area and will cut away to the museum as a place of local interest. Mrs Savage said they had not yet been told when it would be shown.
