DAVE is a lovely nine-year-old dalmatian/labrador-cross who has come into the care of RSPCA Worcester & Mid-Worcestershire Branch through no fault of his own.

He is described as a good natured, affectionate boy who really deserves a loving home.

Geraldine Haynes, branch trustee, said: "It is so sad that Dave has lived in the same home for the last nine years and now finds himself homeless.

"He is the size of a labrador, rather than a dalmatian, and he is in good condition, fit and healthy.

"Dave loves company, enjoys his walks and is good on the lead. He is housetrained, vaccinated, neutered and chipped."

If you feel you could help Dave and would like to meet him, please ring Geraldine on 01886 822083.

Visit the local RSPCA branch website rspca-worcester.org for more rescued animals seeking adoption or call Geraldine on the number above for dogs and The Holdings Animal Rescue Centre for cats and rabbits on 07484 905707.

The charity is currently looking for more volunteers to help at the branch fundraising shops in St John's Worcester, and Upton-upon-Severn.

Mrs Haynes said: "If you feel you can spare a couple of hours on a regular basis, we would be delighted to hear from you.

"Volunteering is very rewarding work and an important part of the functioning of our local charity.

"Our shops all help to raise much needed funds to support our animal welfare work and run our animal centre."

The branch's appeal in our newspapers to find a home for Freddie, the blind Staffie, proved to be successful.

Mrs Haynes said: "Freddie went to a wonderful dream home just before Christmas and is settling in well. A lovely lady saw the appeal and felt she just had to help him.

"He is enjoying his new life in the country, walking in nearby fields with his two new canine friends, who are showing him the ropes.

"His favourite time is curling up in front of the log fire and having a nice sleep after his country walk and mealtimes - he absolutely loves his food.

"We are so grateful to all the kind people who contacted the branch wanting to help Freddie."
