THE cattery at a Worcestershire rescue and rehoming centre for abandoned and neglected animals is full.

Now the RSPCA Worcester & Mid-Worcestershire Branch needs to find homes for the cats in care before it can take in any more.

Geraldine Haynes, branch trustee, said: "Our cattery at The Holdings is full to capacity, with lots of lovely cats, all different ages, seeking their forever homes.

"Jeeves is just one, after his owner sadly passed away.

"At 17 years old, he is in a daze at the moment, but is handling it so well and has impeccable manners.

"He was clearly extremely well loved and is in such marvellous condition - the vet could not believe his age."

Many of the cats can be seen on the branch website rspca-worcester.org.

The centre in Holdings Lane, Broomhall, Kempsey, Worcester WR5 3FP is open every day except Wednesdays from 11am to 4pm. Please ring 07484 905707 with any enquiries.

The branch is inviting animal lovers to The Holdings for 'The Big Rescue' on Saturday, June 16, from 10am until 4pm, which will be a celebration of animal rescue and the anniversary of the founding of the RSPCA.

There will be a variety of craft stalls, light refreshments, BBQ and a mobile bar. Admission is £1 with under 12s free and ample free parking. Fellow rescue organisations have been invited to join the event.

Mrs Haynes said: "As local branches/rescue organisations, we all share the same goal of rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals in need."
