VISITORS to the Countryside and Heritage Area enjoyed demonstrations of traditional rural crafts and skills.

Exhibitors included North Cotswold Bees, a blacksmith’s forge and a slate roof tiler. New to the area was a woodcarver from Evesham and Bidford’s county councillor Peter Barnes who was showing children how to make Olympic torches out of wheat and rye straw.

Coun Barnes has raised more than £600 by selling his Olympic torches in aid Broadway’s Molly Grove, who needs to go to the USA for medical treatment.

The three-year-old has spastic diplegic cerebral palsy and her family has already raised £61,000.
