Fracas at club
8:00am Wednesday 12th September 2012 in Evesham
A MAN smashed up two chairs and two ceiling panels at a snooker club in Evesham during a drunken argument.
James Smith, aged 38, of Coronation Street, Evesham, admitted causing criminal damage at the Ambassador Snooker Club when he appeared before Worcester Magistrates Court.
He also pleaded guilty to using threatening words and behaviour with intent to cause fear towards his nephew, Dean Davis, on August 16. Smith caused £200 worth of damage during a family get-together at the club, the court heard.
Sarah Stock, prosecuting, said Smith became “intoxicated”
after drinking up to 12 pints during the evening and had a cut over his eye when police arrived. She said: “The nephew was indicating he wanted to smack Mr Smith who was seen to throw the chair to the floor”
after an argument with his mother.
Smith, who had no representation in court, was given a two-month curfew, ordered to pay £200 compensation to the snooker club and £85 costs.
