Angry mother bit police officer
8:00am Friday 21st September 2012 in Evesham
A MOTHER-OF-TWO kicked her partner in the stomach and bit a police officer’s knee during her arrest.
Samantha Green, of Goodwin Gardens in Evesham, was walking home through the town centre with her partner at about 7pm on Thursday, August 16. Her partner Kyle Price was carrying her one-year-old baby, while her other son was walking alongside.
Witnesses described seeing Green “kicking out” at her partner following a disagreement.
The cause of the row was not revealed at Worcester Magistrates Court. She kicked him “about five times”, according to Kerry Lovegrove, prosecuting. “Her partner was carrying the baby and Miss Green tried to get the baby back off him – pulling it by its legs. She was then seen to punch her partner.
They walked on again, but there was a further argument which was partly caught on CCTV – although none of the blows were captured on camera.”
Members of the public, however, concerned for the safety of the two children, called the police.
Officers caught up with the couple at their home, but when they arrived the partner said he would not be making a statement about the incident.
However, Green became “annoyed” at the police. “She said she would not let them take the baby,” said Miss Lovegrove.
“As her partner went to take the baby, she kicked him in the stomach.” Officers moved in to arrest her and as they did so, Green bit one of the officers on the back of the knee and spat at them.
Green’s solicitor Oliver Nicholas described his client as “very remorseful”.
She was handed a 12- month community order with supervision, £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
