THE deputy leader of the Green Party visited Worcester to inspire students into lending their support.

Will Duckworth was joined by activists to hand leaflets to students at the University of Worcester ’s St John’s campus in Henwick Grove.

Mr Duckworth, who is also a councillor in Dudley, West Midlands, is the region’s Green Party candidate for the 2014 European elections.

He said: “In the West Midlands we have gone from having three councillors to 13 in just two years. I will take pleasure in working with local and regional groups to replicate that success.”

Councillor Neil Laurenson was elected to Worcester’s St Stephen ward in May to become the city’s first ever Green Party representative.
