BENGEWORTH will soon have its own vicar for the first time in more than a year.
No immediate replacement took up the role when Rev Barrie Collins retired in August last year and weekly services have been held by a number of retired vicars.
Rev Mark Binney, vicar at St Andrew’s Church in Hampton, is taking on the role at St Peter’s and will be welcomed by the Bishop of Worcester next Wednesday at 7.30pm.
Rev Binney will remain vicar at St Andrew’s, Hampton, Sedgeberrow and Hinton, as well as taking on the new role.
All are invited to attend Wednesday’s ceremony.
