• The Holiday Club which ran over half term in the School Hall kept over 30 children, young helpers and volunteers fully occupied for three days. In fact it was so popular that for the first time in recent years, notices had to go up around the village stating that the Holiday Club was full. Sadly the weather limited the usual outdoor games, but there were still craft activities and indoor games to stimulate everyone. On Wednesday Ian Craigan of Puppet Tree Community Arts came and led a workshop on shadow puppets, with the children making their own puppets and putting on a show at the end of the day. On Thursday afternoon the tired and happy children were collected and sent home with the promise of more to follow in the summer. ‘Muddy Kids’ will take place between July 29-31, more information to follow.

• The Coffee Morning in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust which was organised by St. James’ Church and held in Village Hall exceeded all expectations. Everyone commented on the lovely atmosphere, with some people coming at the beginning and expecting to stay for a few minutes, and then meeting so many friends that they stayed to the end. Revd. Richard Thorniley received some sponsorship on the day for the Stratford Half Marathon which he will be running to support the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, but would be happy to receive even more sponsorship.
