THE weather played it's part welcoming visitors to the Inkberrow and District Horticultural Society's Spring Flower Show,held at the Village Hall on Saturday, March 8, with glorious sunshine and warm temperatures.

The hall was filled with the sights and smells of spring ,even the refreshment tables were decorated with pots of daffodils. As well as the horticultural exhibits there was a display of some exquisite needlework and crafts and a plant stall and raffle were well patronised.

Society Chairman,Gareth Edwards, thanked everyone who had contributed to the success of the show either as exhibitors or working behind the scenes.He also expressed his gratitude to Mr.Ron LLoyd who judged the exhibits.

RESULTS: The Ansell Challenge Cup for the highest number of points in the bulb classes and the Society Challenge Cup for the highest number of points in the show were both won by Fred Hunt who was also awarded The Seymour Memorial Trophy for best in show with his amaryllis.

Pam Welsh was in second place in the bulb classes with John Davies third and Celia Montreal and Pam Welsh took second and third places respectively for the most points gained overall.
