THE April Meeting of Bidford on Avon WI was held at The Bidford on Avon Methodist Church. Jerusalem was sung and the President, Joan Churchley welcomed everyone and information was given about future events and classes being arranged by the Warwickshire Federation of WIs.

The speaker or probably better described as the entertainment for the evening was Jane Arnold. Her talk was ‘Making the most of your Rations’. She came dressed as Mrs Arnold from the Ministry of Food in the 1940s and proceeded to tell the meeting how they could best use their rations books and gave a cookery demonstration of the ways to use the food available. Members were able to taste the food which included the delights of banana sandwiches made with mashed parsnips and banana flavouring, mock duck and carrot cookies.

Refreshments of the 21st Century followed and the evening ended with the raffle being drawn

Our next meeting will be at the Bidford Methodist Church onMay 8 at 7 30pm .

The important resolution about increasing organ donations will be discussed and the title for the talk is Holiday Memoirs.
