The June Meeting of Bidford on Avon WI was held at The Bidford on Avon Methodist Church. Jerusalem was sung and the President, Joan Churchley welcomed everyone. Members were given written information about future events and classes being arranged by the Warwickshire Federation of WIs.
A report had been received from the delegate who attended the National Federation Annual Meeting in Leeds. The resolution, presented at that meeting, asked for members to make their wishes known regarding organ donation and to encourage their family and friends and members of their local community to do likewise. It was passed by 97.82 per cent.
The speaker for the evening was Mark Talbot , a volunteer from the Air Ambulance Service. He was an excellent speaker not only giving details of the rapid response helicopter but also the quality of the pilots and medical personnel.
Refreshments were enjoyed and the evening ended with the competition winners being announced and the raffle being drawn.
Our next meeting will be at the Bidford Methodist Church on the July 10 at 7.30pm.
The speaker is Peter Preece. His talk entitled Every Picture Tells a Story is a British Wild Life presentation.
