MY week started with a visit to Run Stuff for two reasons to promote the 10k race happening this Sunday and to have my gait analysis done.

The biggest issue I have with running is my flat feet, so I was grateful for Run Stuff's expert advice and help. I am now looking forward to the challenge of the race.

On Wednesday, I had the privilege of attending the tercentenary celebrations of John Martins Charity at Worcester Cathedral. What a wonderful occasion and venue where we were entertained by the massed choirs of Evesham High School and Prince Henry's. 100's of children from all the local schools were in attendance and lots of the beneficiaries of this amazing charity joined in the the celebration. We received a thought-provoking sermon from the Bishop of Worcester and an amazing recital of a poem about John Martin's life from John Raphael. Later on Wednesday, I was at the Almonry to receive the old sign from the Abbey Bridge from Cllr John Smith, which will now be located at the museum.

On Friday, I joined Prince Henry's for their Speech day, which again was a mighty celebration of the pupils' achievements over the last year. The calibre of the students and their achievements is testament to the school and its teachers. Sir Peter Luff gave the keynote speech and well over 100 awards were given out in front of a packed auditorium.

Lastly, on Saturday, I joined Evesham Vale Tri-Athletes for the re-launch of the Mile River Swim. I was delighted to see this race taking place again and seeing the river used in this way - although under strict conditions. It was again a cause for celebration and people lined the river to cheer on the swimmers. A huge thank you to all those, who put the efforts in to re-instating this race, not seen for the last 80 years, and to those who actually competed.
