At our AGM on October 9, Jill Robinson, our President, welcomed members and our adviser, Sue White.

Going briefly through the business, Jill mentioned our two outings last month, to Harvington Hall and Bletchley Park, both of which had been very much enjoyed by the members who were able to go. At Harvington Hall our guide, dressed in period costume, was first rate and brought to life the history of the Hall for us. At Bletchley Park we could only wonder at the abilities of those who were able to crack the code, as well as the fact that their work remained secret during the war and for long after it ended. It was certainly a fascinating visit.

After the general business we heard annual reports from the Jill and from our Treasurer, Ann Davis. Both Jill and Ann were standing down, along with three other members of the committee. Ann Evans expressed her willingness to act as President for the coming year and was unanimously elected. The five remaining committee members were re-elected en bloc and a new Treasurer will be appointed at the next committee meeting.

On behalf of the members Joyce Davey thanked Sue White for her assistance, and the retiring committee members for their hard work over the years.

It was then time for a cup of tea and the drawing of the raffle.

Our next meeting will be held on November 13 and we look forward to hearing from Cameron Addicott about his 20 Years Undercover with Customs and Organised Crime. Visitors are always welcome at our meetings at the Hampton Guide and Scout Community Hall on the second Thursday of the month at 7.30pm.
