AFTER their AGM, a miserable November evening didn’t prevent our members from enjoying a trip to the tropics with their version of ‘Desert Island Discs’. We heard an eclectic selection of music, classical and modern, with the deeply felt reasons for the choices, and we sighed, we cried and then we cried with laughter as a rousing finish had us dancing in the aisles. Rock on.
Our next meeting will be held at 7.30pm in The WI Hall on Thursday, December 11 when we will be entertained by Alan Brewer with his talk entitled “Up in the Clouds with some Fluffy Bits“ a lighthearted look at the life of an air steward and our first meeting of the New Year will be on Thursday, January 8 when Gillian White will talk on “The Queen and the Gypsy and the Kenilworth Entertainment”
