PRESIDENT Val Davies welcomed all members and following the singing of Jerusalem business matters were dealt with then we settled down to listen to our speaker of the evening whose subject was entitled "Elegant Georgian Worcester". Mrs Sandy Cole proceeded to give a very informative talk on the subject and had brought along numerous slides of Worcester in the days of old that perhaps we would not always recognize in this day and age. Beautiful old buildings with lots of history to them. Apparently the famous Elgar himself frequented Worcester in the days when most of the roads were still cobbled. Also Lord Nelson once came with the Hamilton family to order their Worcester Porcelain.

Next time I visit Worcester I will try to imagine how it was in more genteel times and try to visualize how it used to be.
