The Mayoress and I were received an invitation from Viv & Eric Jones to join them for afternoon tea in aid of the "British Heart Foundation" a delightful afternoon was spent with congenial conversation from each and everyone of the guests, the invitation read donations please in aid of the BHF (if you enjoyed the food), I might add the food was excellent. I sometimes suspect that we go about our everyday business unaware that members of of our community organize such events, so well done Viv & Eric and thank you for allowing us into your home, you are one of the many star members of our community.

I cut the ribbon at the Evesham branch of "Santander Bank" they have just completed a refurbishment, and the whole focus was on ensuring that the branch is "People Friendly" and this they have achieved, so thank you to the Manager and staff for a memorable opening event.

As many of you are aware I have been a proactive member of the EDPA (Evesham & District Older Peoples Forum) for well over 12 years - so when they invited the Mayor to one of their Social Afternoons I was there like a shot, congratulations to the social committee for organizing such an enjoyable event., just a little reminder the Association caters for the over 50's age group in our community.

As Mayor I was allowed to scale the Bell Tower and to see first hand the skilled work being undertaken to the restoration of Evesham's iconic bell tower this as been achieved through the close working relationship of Wychavon District Council and your local Town Council, not forgetting the hard working volunteers who have organized events to top up the money needed to carry out his imported work, we shall be for ever internally grateful to each and everyone of you. The Bell Tower is symbol of local pride and a key attraction to Tourists and as a bearing on our local economy.

One thing I can in all honesty say in this Historic Riverside Town we love our Festivals in particular the Fishing Festival, as Mayor of Evesham I was privileged to be present at the Individual Championship

35 star anglers and 35 qualifiers who compete for one of the match angling's prestigious prizes. As our eyes are quite rightly focused on the competitors, we forget these events are not only exciting to witness, but they also have a huge impact on our local economy. It would be wrong of me to try and name each individual who has worked tirelessly to bring this event about, but we the Town Council thank each and everyone of you.

There is always a warm welcome at Wallace House Community Centre. The centre is situated right in the heart of Evesham which offers a diverse programme of activities for all ages. Including sports and leisure pursuits. Educational and support classes enabling the whole community to develop and learn new skills, meeting rooms to hire, so why not pop in have a chat with our friendly staff, we even have a small comfortable cafe to have a cup of tea or coffee.
