Two members will attend the Annual Council meeting at Malvern on October 20.

Our speaker Richard Kendick from Honeybourne told us about being behind the scenes with a TV and Film Caterer. Having started his company with a small van serving breakfasts for 50 people, the business was built over 35 years to a big operation with mass caterings for hundreds at events such as Wembley cup finals, British Grand Prix for six years, Grand National, Live Aid concert and Golf events. Using fleets of dining buses and kitchens, generators and marquees, delicious menus from local sources, were served to film and television crews. He shared some anecdotes of the logistics of the operation. Richard met many celebrities when he catered for their parties too. Over the years he had kept a photographic record showing the growth of the business, with which he illustrated his talk.

Elizabeth Puddick thanked him for such a fascinating talk.

After tea Ursula Key-Davis demonstrated how to over-winter pelargoniums which need to be kept in a frost free area.
