THE September Meeting took place at the Bidford Methodist church. Shirley welcomed everyone and a special welcome was given to a new member Sarah Sellick.
Details of all future events and trips had been given in writing or by email to all members.
Shirley gave information about the courses for the Denman Federation weekend in 2016 and several members were interested in attending. She congratulated Ann Smith whose chutney was voted second in the Lane Cup..
The speaker for the evening was Gillian Crisp , a Trustee of Warwickshire Federation of WIs.. She gave an excellent power point presentation about the Associated Country Women of the World. She explained how projects were selected and how Warwickshire Federation members were at present raising funds to supply water pipes to an orphanage in Cameroon. Gillian also reminded the meeting that money is raised by selling unwanted and broken jewellery and that there is a collection box for such items at Federation House.
Refreshments were enjoyed and the meeting ended with the competition winners being announced and the raffle being drawn..
Our October meeting will be held on October 8 at 7.30pm at the Bidford Methodist Church. The Speaker will be Peter Preece, a wild life photographer.
