AT THE August Parish Council meeting the Council agreed to appoint Alan Williams as the new tree warden. He succeeds Hugh Nunn who has recently left the village, but who leaves a leafy legacy behind him.

On Saturday, September 12 the Connections Meeting was addressed by Malik Fayaz on the subject ‘Listening to our Neighbour.’ He is a freelance Islamic faith and cultural consultant. With his colleague Dr Tanvir, he explained the different strands within Islam, and showed how some of the traditions that are often seen to be Muslim, are in fact cultural rather than based on the faith. At the end of the session, the mood of the meeting was that it had been a very informative and helpful time and Mr Fayaz was warmly thanked. If you have ever wondered what Christians believe, Rev Richard Thorniley will be running a 6 session course in the autumn which will cover the basics of Christian belief, and how it has developed from its Jewish roots to what it is today. For more information contact Richard at rector@archbenefice.org.uk or 870527.
