AT OUR October meeting members were in for a real treat when two of our committee members,Jenny Johnson and Anne Schmidt, did a cookery demonstration which they carried out in a professional but light hearted way. Between them they made a Beef and Macaroni bake,an Almond and Apricot Cheesecake, some American biscuits (similar to plain scones) and flapjacks suitable for people with IBS. They advised members to prepare all ingredients before starting and gave tips for lower calorie alternatives. In true Blue Peter style, for each dish, they produced "one they had made earlier" so that members could taste the results immediately. All the dishes quickly disappeared as members tucked in and everyone agreed Jenny and Anne had done an excellent job and provided us with an enjoyable afternoon. A huge thank you for all their hard work.

Anne Turner thanked those who have generously knitted poppies to raise money for the British Legion and Jenny Jones advised on forthcoming events.

The AGM is on Tuesday, November 24 at 1.30 p.m. when there will be two speakers following the reports and election of the committee for the coming year.
