AT THE November meeting the speaker was David Fletcher, the talk was on Kamchaktka he was an excellent speaker and it was very interesting. For those who have never heard of it, Kamchakta is a peninsular on the far north eastern side of Russia , it was fascinating because of it’s remoteness and its proximity to the USA , just across the Bering Sea, virtually unspoilt and has unique wildlife. His talk was enjoyed by everyone. The Chairman then opened the meeting with a ticker which got an applause as well as getting everyone laughing. The Christmas lunch at the Berkeley was a great success. The room looked very festive and the food was good, they looked after us very well. It is hoped that members will do as in previous years ie instead of sending cards , make a donation, the charity this year will be Sight Concern. The December meeting will be a social starting with Sherry or orange and mince pies, the entertainment is Gabriela Musical Fun with the Ukulele Lady, this will be followed by our usual extremely good raffle. The Chairman asked everyone to enter into the spirit of Christmas by wearing something festive.
