ANOTHER year ahead what will 2016 bring forth for our community, many of our problems I've no doubt will be much of the same as last year, Evesham is a wonderful Town with it's amazing heritage and one we can be justly proud of but we still have to tackle the problem of a small number of anti social residence who see our streets as a dumping ground for their litter. Back in November 2015 an anti-litter campaign was launched when we set out plans to deal with this problem, filthy streets give a bad impression of the of our Town to visitors and makes Evesham a less pleasant place to live and shop.

I realize there is a need for houses to be built but we must continue to remind ourselves that the infrastructure needs to be in place before we start building, this is one of the problems that is still with us for 2016.

I'm still very concerned along with the Deputy Mayor over the state of the pavements by Merstow Green Medical Centre I have raised the question with Cllr John Smith and we are working together to bring this urgent matter to a satisfactory conclusion.

A little reminder that there is always a warm welcome at Wallace House Community Centre (no matter what age you are) which offers a diverse program of activities for all ages' including sports and leisure pursuit's, educational, and support classes - why not pop in and have a chat with our friendly staff. We even have a small cafe.

The mayors diary is starting fill up with Civic Duties for the coming months, when privileged to attend community events it is then you witness first hand what a fantastic community we live in, with such volunteers as the Evesham First Responders, Evesham Relay for Life, Evesham Street Pastors, U3A, Evesham & District Older (50 plus) Peoples Forum, Evesham Volunteer Centre, Working World and Caring Hands, the list is endless .

Let us continue in 2016 - to be more vocal regarding the aspirations of our community.
