IT WAS chilly outside and "chillies" inside at Defford Hummingbirds' meeting this month. Seventeen members and four visitors braved the bitter cold and rain to watch while Tori Richardson gave a spicy demonstration of how to make her favourite vegetable dhal and pakoras. She explained about the different sorts of chillies and gave us a tip on testing how hot they are. A variety of spices were also discussed but, of course, the best bit was tasting the delicious results. And we all came away with the recipes so that we can recreate them at home.
Hummingbirds meet at 7.30pm on the second Wednesday in the month at Defford Village Hall. Come along and see what we get up to. All ladies welcome. Bring a friend, or come on your own and make some new ones. In February we will be finding out all about Aromatherapy from Paula Trafford.
