THE winter series of talks continued on January 12 when Anne Chambers from Kiftsgate gave a talk entitled ‘Kiftsgate through the Seasons’. She commenced her talk with a brief history of the gardens outlining how three generations of her family had developed the gardens. She then spoke about the garden through the seasons including current developments. Her talk was illustrated by some superb slides. Undoubtedly, as a result of the talk, many members will be revisiting the gardens this year.

The series continues with a talk on Tuesday, February 9 at 7.30pm about the Heritage Seed Library (HSL) to be given by Neil Munro, the manager of the library. The HSL at Coventry aims to conserve vegetable varieties that are not widely available. The collection consists of mainly European and heritage varieties that have been saved over generations or been dropped from popular seed catalogues over the past decade. The talk will be followed by our AGM.

March sees Gardeners Question Time on the 8th and the Inter-gardening Club Quiz on the 23rd at Mickleton Gardening Club. All this leading up to our Annual Spring Show on Saturday April 8.
