THE April meeting of Bidford on Avon WI was held at The Bidford Methodist church.
President, Shirley McAloon welcomed everyone including three visitors. All the details of events, outings and classes were detailed in the monthly news letter.
Jean Churchley gave an excellent report of the WFWI Annual meeting which she had attended as the delegate.
The speaker for the evening was Dr. Gillian White. She gave a very interesting, well presented talk about the Great Fire of Warwick. She said that although over 400 buildings were destroyed and 250 families were made homeless there were no deaths.
Refreshments followed, the competition winners were announced and the evening ended with the raffle being drawn.
Our May meeting will be held on May 12 at 7.30pm at the Bidford Methodist Church when the resolutions on food waste and dementia carers in hospital will be discussed. We will also hear about a trip to New Zealand.
