THIS month we held our Annual Meeting, so a much more formal affair than normal! We began with correspondence that included a trip to Worcester Races, a tour of the historic town of Bewdley and Lunch with Jo Toye script writer for The Archers, being among the upcoming events.

The meeting was then handed over to a WI advisor. We began by debating and voting on this years resolutions. There are two resolutions this year, "avoid food waste and address food poverty" the proposal being that food suppliers would be asked to give surplus food to charities, such as food banks, to be distributed to those people who are in food poverty. The second being a call For " appropriate care in hospitals for those suffering with dementia" this proposal was calling for carers to be able to stay with patients who are suffering with Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia when they are admitted hospital.

This was followed by the Treasurers annual financial report, the Secretary's review of the year and finally the Presidents report, in which Carol Preece sadly announced that she was stepping down as President for a well earned rest! The new committee was then appointed and Sue Miller voted in as the new President.

Formalities over we had a short break for tea and coffee, we then ended the evening with a very entertaining quiz.

Next meeting to be held on Tuesday June 14 at Cropthorne Village Hall at 7.30pm, when we will be joined by Dennis Chamberlain who will be speaking to us about 900 year of Greyfrairs Worcester. The competition will be Oldest Memorabilia of Worcester.
