A GROUP of our members recently set off on a mystery tour followed by afternoon tea. The driver took us out through the Worcestershire and Herefordshire countryside looking at its very best. We travelled along winding roads with spectacular views across Herefordshire, past fields of golden oilseed rape, through bluebell carpeted tunnels of trees, alongside orchards of apple blossom and fields of sheep grazing on lush, fresh green grass. We finally arrived at the Hop Pocket retail centre where we had the opportunity to browse around the various outlets before enjoying a delicious cream tea. We were so lucky with the weather too.
On 24th May at our monthly meeting, Richard Kendrick told us about what goes on behind the scenes of a television and film catering company which was interesting. The pictures he showed us of the mobile kitchens were a revelation; the huge quantities and variety of food served an eye opener and the cost and work involved staggering. He also told us about some of the funny things that have happened over the years. It was an enjoyable and interesting afternoon.
