OUR June meeting was supposed to take place in the garden of Elaine Gibbs at Bickmarsh but we were thwarted by the weather and had to retreat to the village hall. Fortunately Pimms goes down well indoors as well as out and after a toast to the Queen on her 90th birthday Mary Harrison organised an intensely competitive and rowdy beetle drive. Lots of dates were added to diaries for outings( National Memorial Arboretum, Lord and Lady Heseltine’s garden , and Salisbury Christmas market) the next Knit and Natter meet-up, clay pigeon shooting and for 3 new workshops offered by designer Wendi Bowron-Weller. Our quiz team was congratulated on bringing the bell back to Pebworth from the group quiz, members were thanked by Yvonne Rose for their tremendous support for the Open Gardens event and Ursula Key-Davies , Fibrex Nursery was applauded for winning Gold at Chelsea Flower Show. So what could have been a disappointing evening turned into a lively, jolly one!
