MEMBERS, wives, partners and guests thoroughly enjoyed our Summer Lunch at the Beckford Inn on Thursday, 16 June. President Brian Ireland opened proceedings by reminding us of the history of Probus – a club for retired Professional and Business men – and we wished Her Majesty the Queen a belated happy birthday. Vice President George Bourne said Grace.
We then settled back to enjoy our choice of fish, pork, beef or butternut squash and at least one of us voted the sticky toffee pudding the best dish of the day!
Another wonderful occasion was the unanimous verdict with plenty of opportunities to mingle and indulge in the usual convivial chatter and banter. We thanked the staff of the Beckford Inn for making us so welcome and our secretary Clive Allen for making the necessary arrangements.
On June 23 we hear about Birmingham – City of Culture, followed on 30 June by our own Steve Swarbrick with Name that Song. Do join us at the Evesham Rowing Club’s Boathouse.
